Back to the future with some stunning mens tshirt designs
Author: Alex Ribbs
Is anyone else fed up with walking down the high street and seeing men wearing identical t shirts? Mens tshirt designs have been in need of a hero for some time now: and thankfully they’ve finally got one, in the shape of a UK based online t shirt designer that has been bringing the masculine threads back to the old school. My Icon Art is leading a pack of newbies that have decided to release ranges of mens tees inspired by classic movies, old TV shows and rock albums from way back when rock was still good.
Yes – the good old days have come back to the future, and about time too. For what seems like an eternity, we’ve been crying out for some decent mens tshirt designs: so imagine the collective sighs of relief emanating from the sartorially conscious among the UK’s manhood, as these new lines of tees started hitting the virtual shelves of cyber space- t shirts with stylised images of famous cool people, both fictional and otherwise, from some of the funkiest television and celluloid this side of the galaxy. Mens tshirt designs featuring reproductions of classic album covers; of quotes from super cool movies; and of lyrics from legendary songs.
These are t shirts that actually give a man a chance at a bit of individuality – he can buy according to the bits of pop history he really likes, and say something about himself when he’s wearing them. Fashion, of course, has always been a bit of a dichotomy – it’s about being individual, but being “in” with a crowd. These new mens tshirt designs are more about rejecting the idea of sameness and going for something because it has individual appeal. There’s an overall sense of oneness with a crowd of like minded men, for sure – but at least in this case the like mindedness comes from a desire to wear something genuinely funky and good looking, rather than just buying into whatever brand is deemed currently popular.
It’s a rejection of mass advertising (which can only be a good thing) and a resurrection of the idea that you wear clothes because they are fun, because they look good, or because they give out a message or statement you like or agree with. It’s about time, too. Mens tshirt designs have spent too long in the hands of company big wigs. With classic 80s film quotes and awesome album covers leading the way, they’re coming back to the people again.
